09 July, 2026 — Fraunhofer is seeking industry partners for quantum computing use cases
Quantum Computing for Industry: INQUBATOR Opens Call for Use-Cases
Quantum computing is no longer a vision of the future – yet for many companies, getting started remains a significant challenge. This is precisely where INQUBATOR, the Fraunhofer test and consulting center for quantum computing, comes in: Companies of all sizes can now apply with their use-cases as part of an open Call for Use-Cases. The application deadline is 31 August 2026.
The project specifically strengthens the local quantum computing ecosystem by making the technology accessible with low barriers to entry. No prior knowledge or quantum hardware is required: the participating Fraunhofer institutes IAF, IAO, IPA and ITWM support companies from the initial idea through to concrete exploitation perspectives – on state-of-the-art quantum computers from international manufacturers.
At least four selected use-cases will be developed collaboratively over a period of approximately ten months. An individual exploitation plan will be drawn up for each application – with the goal of testing quantum algorithms where they can have real economic impact.
INQUBATOR is therefore a key building block for scaling the quantum computing ecosystem in the region: it connects industry and cutting-edge research, creates practical experience, and enables companies to prepare for the quantum era at an early stage.
