Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences joins the QuantumBW network

QuantumBW welcomes Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences (HHN) as a new network partner. With its application- and practice-oriented research in the field of quantum computing, HHN supports the development of modern quantum algorithms and at the same time makes an important contribution to the training of future specialists in quantum computing.
Quantum computing offers enormous potential for solving complex challenges in optimisation, simulation and AI – even those that have been unsolvable using conventional methods. Heilbronn University of Applied Scienes is conducting practical research into new applications and developing powerful quantum algorithms for this purpose. At the same time, it sees it as a central task to train future specialists across the entire quantum software stack, thereby strengthening the next generation of the growing quantum community in Baden-Württemberg.
By joining the QuantumBW network, HHN wants to actively contribute to the further development of quantum technologies in Baden-Württemberg. HHN particularly values the open exchange, joint projects and collaborations, as well as a joint presence at national and international events to raise awareness of the topic. In addition, QuantumBW offers an important platform for giving students access to relevant players in the regional quantum scene and involving them in this future-oriented field at an early stage.
„QuantumBW enables our students to access the regional quantum ecosystem and thus get an early start in a forward-looking field of technology.”

About Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences

Heilbronn University of Applieds Sciences (HHN) is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg. Its areas of expertise lie in technology, economics and computer science. At its four locations in Heilbronn, Heilbronn-Sontheim, Künzelsau and Schwäbisch Hall, HHN offers more than 60 future-oriented bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, including part-time courses. HHN also offers other study models and maintains close cooperation with companies in the region. This gives it an excellent network in teaching, research and practice. The in-house start-up centre also supports students and researchers in pursuing their entrepreneurial goals.

Pfizer Joins the QuantumBW Network

QuantumBW welcomes Pfizer as a new network partner. The Pfizer Healthcare Hub is one of the innovation drivers at Pfizer Germany and a great addition to the QuantumBW network. As one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer brings important key competencies to the QuantumBW ecosystem to explore the potential of quantum technologies for the healthcare industry and make them usable at an early stage.

The Pfizer Healthcare Hub in Freiburg acts as the central innovation driver for Pfizer Germany. The team led by Peter Neske, Pembe Gül Bilir, and Oana Elena Stürz works closely with internal specialist departments and external partners to link specific use cases from the Pfizer universe with innovative technologies. By joining forces, Pfizer and QuantumBW are underscoring the innovative strength of the state of Baden-Württemberg and taking a decisive step toward the second quantum revolution in medical technology.

Pfizer sees the collaboration with the QuantumBW network as an opportunity to set new standards in drug delivery and meet the challenges of modern healthcare. “With selected projects, we want to show that it is worthwhile to explore the potential applications of future technologies, such as quantum computing, at an early stage,” explains Peter Neske, Innovation Lead at the Pfizer Healthcare Hub in Freiburg. “By using such innovative technologies, we can improve and accelerate the supply of vital medicines to our patients.”

Our goal is to develop marketable solutions for drug production, clinical research, therapy support, and other patient solutions. Our mission is to adapt the potential of digital innovations for the healthcare industry by initiating collaborations between the Pfizer Group and innovative companies. We connect experts and innovators in the healthcare sector, provide a platform for discussion, identify potential, and promote dialogue on a wide variety of stages—thus creating space for groundbreaking innovations. Our motto: Cocreate! Collaborate! Coinnovate!”
