Quantum Sensing MADE in THE L\u00c4ND\u2014A Huge Success for Quantum Sensing from Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg<\/strong><\/h1>\n[\/module_free_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][module_free_text spacebefore=\u201cspacebefore-none\u201d spaceafter=\u201cspaceafter\u2011m\u201d indentbefore=\u201cindentbefore-xs\u201d indentafter=\u201cindentafter-xs\u201d bgcolor=\u201d\u201d moduleeffect=\u201ceffect-media\u201d]\n\nOrgani\u00adza\u00adtions from Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg achieved great success in both <\/strong><\/span>\u201cFunken\u201d funding programs run by SPRIND\u2014Federal Agency for Disrup\u00adtive Innova\u00adtion. Nine of the 19 selected projects overall include partners from Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, and thus from QuantumBW<\/sup>\u2019s quantum ecosystem.<\/strong><\/span>\n\n[\/module_free_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][module_free_text spacebefore=\u201cspacebefore-none\u201d spaceafter=\u201cspaceafter\u2011m\u201d indentbefore=\u201cindentbefore-xs\u201d indentafter=\u201cindentafter-xs\u201d bgcolor=\u201d\u201d moduleeffect=\u201ceffect-media\u201d]\n

As part of the German government\u2019s Hightech Agenda, SPRIND\u2014Federal Agency for Disrup\u00adtive Innovation\u2014published two calls for project propos\u00adals in August of this year, which are consid\u00adered the first measures, known as \u201cFunken,\u201d for the field of quantum sensing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The goal of the projects is to expand concrete use cases for exist\u00ading quantum sensor systems. These projects aim to demon\u00adstrate the benefits that can be achieved through quantum sensor technol\u00adogy, ranging from greater preci\u00adsion and better predic\u00adtions to more robust naviga\u00adtion and new forms of data analysis.<\/span><\/p>\n

QuantumBW<\/sup> warmly congrat\u00adu\u00adlates the success\u00adful appli\u00adcants and is delighted about the strong partic\u00adi\u00adpa\u00adtion of partners from Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. With nine out of a total of 19 funded projects\u2014seven of 13 projects from the \u201cQuantum-Driven Intel\u00adli\u00adgence\u201d Funken and two of six projects from the \u201cQuantum\u00adSense Explo\u00adration\u201d Funken\u2014Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg is strongly repre\u00adsented among the funded projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next SPRIND challenge in the field of quantum sensing is already under\u00adway. Teams can apply for \u201cMeasur\u00ading with Entan\u00adgle\u00adment<\/a>\u201d until Novem\u00adber 9, 2026, 12:00 p.m. (CET), to demon\u00adstrate the quantum advan\u00adtage and show the transi\u00adtion from the lab to a concrete appli\u00adca\u00adtion under real-world conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/module_free_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][module_free_text spacebefore=\u201cspacebefore\u2011m\u201d spaceafter=\u201cspaceafter\u2011m\u201d indentbefore=\u201cindentbefore-xs\u201d indentafter=\u201cindentafter-xs\u201d bgcolor=\u201d\u201d moduleeffect=\u201ceffect-media\u201d]\n
