The aim of the Trans\u00adfer Booster is to trans\u00adlate promis\u00ading research results from quantum science into concrete applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-size-s\">The funded project teams develop quantum-based feasi\u00adbil\u00adity concepts, proto\u00adtypes, and demon\u00adstra\u00adtors within twelve months and test them together with partners in the field. The focus is on identi\u00adfy\u00ading fields of appli\u00adca\u00adtion, products, and markets at an early stage, thereby accel\u00ader\u00adat\u00ading the trans\u00adfer to indus\u00adtry and society. The projects are funded by the Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg with 4.2 million euros.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bring\u00ading quantum technolo\u00adgies into application<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">The range of the eleven selected projects demon\u00adstrates the poten\u00adtial of quantum technolo\u00adgies for key future fields: it extends from quantum sensors for cancer diagnos\u00adtics and real-time analy\u00adsis of tumor tissue to quantum-secure commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion solutions, non-destructive testing of materi\u00adals in construc\u00adtion, contact\u00adless flow measure\u00adment in indus\u00adtrial plants, analy\u00adsis of battery cells, and satellite-independent navigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">The acade\u00admic partners in the projects are the Karlsruhe Insti\u00adtute of Technol\u00adogy (KIT), the Univer\u00adsi\u00adties of Stuttgart, Ulm, and Heidel\u00adberg, and the Univer\u00adsity Medical Center Freiburg. Together with non-university research institutions\u2014including the Hahn-Schickard Society for Applied Research, the Fraunhofer Insti\u00adtute for Physi\u00adcal Measure\u00adment Techniques (IPM), the Fraunhofer Insti\u00adtute for Applied Solid State Physics (IAF), the Fraunhofer Insti\u00adtute for Mechan\u00adics of Materi\u00adals (IWM), the Insti\u00adtute for Micro\u00adelec\u00adtron\u00adics Stuttgart (IMS CHIPS), and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) with its Insti\u00adtutes of Techni\u00adcal Thermo\u00addy\u00adnam\u00adics and Quantum Technolo\u00adgies \u2013 and other partners from indus\u00adtry, they are working in inter\u00addis\u00adci\u00adpli\u00adnary teams to trans\u00adform new quantum technolo\u00adgies into marketable solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\"><strong>The quantum ecosys\u00adtem in THE&nbsp;L\u00c4ND<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">\u201cBaden-W\u00fcrttemberg is a leader in quantum science: our Quantum<sup>BW<\/sup> innova\u00adtion campus brings together the exper\u00adtise of state univer\u00adsi\u00adties, non-university research insti\u00adtu\u00adtions, and compa\u00adnies.
