With a total volume of 50 million euros, P4Q is a ground\u00adbreak\u00ading project that is driving the devel\u00adop\u00adment and indus\u00adtri\u00adal\u00adiza\u00adtion of photonic quantum chips across Europe\u2014and Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg is playing a key role in&nbsp;this!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/module_free_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][module_free_text spacebefore=\u201cspacebefore-none\u201d spaceafter=\u201cspaceafter\u2011m\u201d indentbefore=\u201cindentbefore-xs\u201d indentafter=\u201cindentafter-xs\u201d bgcolor=\u201d\u201d moduleeffect=\u201ceffect-media\u201d]<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"font-size-s\"><strong>Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg: Compe\u00adtence center for quantum photonics<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">IMS CHIPS in Stuttgart, located in the heart of \u201cTHE L\u00c4ND\u201d and a partner in the Quantum<sup>BW<\/sup> network, is a central compo\u00adnent of the P4Q consor\u00adtium with its dedicated pilot line for photonic chips. It impres\u00adsively demon\u00adstrates how exist\u00ading manufac\u00adtur\u00ading infra\u00adstruc\u00adture can be used and scaled for novel photonic appli\u00adca\u00adtions. This exper\u00adtise is the founda\u00adtion for trans\u00adfer\u00adring quantum photon\u00adics from labora\u00adtory research to indus\u00adtrial application.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Innova\u00adtion, technol\u00adogy trans\u00adfer, and sovereignty<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">P4Q addresses key challenges in quantum technolo\u00adgies: the repro\u00adducibil\u00adity and scala\u00adbil\u00adity of photonic compo\u00adnents for appli\u00adca\u00adtions such as quantum sensing, eavesdropping-proof commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion, and quantum comput\u00ading. With a focus on standards, new produc\u00adtion techniques, and testing and packag\u00ading approaches, P4Q enables large-scale demon\u00adstra\u00adtion (TRL\u20118 \/ MRL\u20118) and paves the way for industrialization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">The project thus contributes signif\u00adi\u00adcantly to strength\u00aden\u00ading innova\u00adtion capac\u00adity, increas\u00ading techno\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal sover\u00adeignty and resilience, and quali\u00adfy\u00ading skilled workers \u2013 in line with state and federal strate\u00adgies for quantum technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Partners from the QuantumBW network and inter\u00adna\u00adtional cooperation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">P4Q brings together 29 partners from univer\u00adsi\u00adties, research insti\u00adtutes, and indus\u00adtry in a total of 12 European countries. Half of the projec\u00adt\u2019s funding comes from the European Union (ChipsJU) and the other half from national contri\u00adbu\u00adtions, includ\u00ading the German Federal Ministry of Educa\u00adtion and Research (BMBF).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"font-size-s\">Another highlight: the partic\u00adi\u00adpa\u00adtion of partners from the Nether\u00adlands and the QuantumBW network under\u00adscores the ambitions for inter\u00adna\u00adtional network\u00ading in the field of quantum technolo\u00adgies in accor\u00addance with the Memoran\u00addum of Under\u00adstand\u00ading (MoU) between QuantumBW and its Dutch counter\u00adpart Quantum Delta NL.
