Use of quantum computers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Unlike classi\u00adcal comput\u00aders, quantum comput\u00aders use princi\u00adples of quantum physics to solve specific compu\u00adta\u00adtional problems in a completely new way. While conven\u00adtional comput\u00aders utilize bits that can repre\u00adsent the states of either 0 or 1, quantum comput\u00aders process infor\u00adma\u00adtion using qubits, which can simul\u00adta\u00adne\u00adously repre\u00adsent both states due to the quantum mechan\u00adi\u00adcal princi\u00adple of super\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion. This opens up new comput\u00ading methods for partic\u00adu\u00adlarly complex tasks, such as optimiz\u00ading supply chains or the simulation-based devel\u00adop\u00adment of new materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, the new comput\u00ading power poses signif\u00adi\u00adcant security risks: in a few years, quantum comput\u00aders will be able to break the asymmet\u00adric encryp\u00adtion methods widely used today, such as RSA or ECC. There is already a need for action today, as inter\u00adcepted data could be decrypted at a later point in time (\u201cstore now, decrypt later\u201d).
